Welcome to CAC

CAC - the Campaign Against Crazy Frog is the semi-official site for all anti-frog campaigning. Set up for the purposes of a thread at the esato.com forums this page is designed to chronicle the absolute awfulness of the Mad Frog, and what you can do to fight back.

This, people, is the enemy: The Jamster Crazy frog:

History Lesson

Do you wish a brief history of the crazy frog? Well what thy wish thy shalt receive, so listen up closely acolytes

The story of the frog starts in 1997 when Daniel Malmedahl, a 17-year-old Swedish boy, recorded an impersonation of his friends' scooters. His original recording raised chuckles, and so he put it on the internet. At one point he was even asked to perform it on Swedish TV

For years members of the online community found it and giggled helplessly, before running to tell their friends. The recording grew increasingly popular and, in 2001, was used in the Insanity Test. If you could listen to the sound and stare at a picture of a red Formula One car for more than 60 seconds without laughing, you passed the test: you were clearly insane.

In 2002 a 3D-graphics designer called Wernquist took the test. He didn't know where the sound came from but using his computer skills he spawned the frog character, which he called 'The Annoying Thing'. He then created an animated cartoon which he posted on the website of his company, Turbo-Force 3D, where it is still available free of charge.

When he created the frog, he did not even know who had made the noise. His website included a request for the creator of the sound to contact him. A friend of Malmedahl's saw it and put the two in touch by phone. To this day, Wernquist and Malmedahl, who now sells computer components, haven't actually met.

It was only in 2004, that a worker at Jamba!, a German ringtone company, spotted its popularity on the internet and put it forward as an idea to his bosses. Markus Berger-de Leon, chief operating officer of Jamba!, says: "All of us saw it, the whole executive team, and we thought 'This is going to be big'." They approached Wernquist and Malmedahl and bought the rights.

From this point Jamba! (or Jamster as it is now known) started a media blitz. It seems almost every channel is being covered with adverts for the Crazy Frog. It has even penetrated main stream TV, with adds showing on channel four in the United Kingdom. Of course due to American TV laws the frogs bits have been covered up with a black bar on most adverts.

As a new chapter to the reign of annoyance, as of 19:00 hours on May 29th, 2005, the frog is number one in the British Singles charts. How long it will stay here is unknown, but truly the end is high for this great British Institution. Although already dwindling due to reduced sales of singles, the rise of the frog is the final nail in the coffin of this once proud beast.

August 2005: Not content with the number one single the infamous Jamster company have now unleashed a new horror unto the world - Crazy Frog: The Video Game. This vile piece of excrement must burn, BURN!

September 30th 2005: Awful news. I have just heard of both a christmas single and, worse, ACTION FIGURES based on the crazy frog! This has gone too far now, just too far. Please feel free to send me pictures of action man killing the frog. On a better note, the ASA (Advertising Standards Agency) have now banned the froggy one before 9PM at night. Finally, some progress in the fight against the frog!

October 7th 2005: In my daily trawls of the inter-web I have discovered to more sites avowed to a staunch defense agaisnt the Crazy Frog. These sites are the true defenders of that faith, leading the fight against the Froggy one, and in one case allowing you to fight back. Be at peace with thyself, for the unveiling of the Amphibian menace is at hand.

Others, though, are not so enlightened. By dirth of their credulous natures they do not comprehend the threat to humanity which the frog poses. Yay, though the Froggopalypse is near at hand the unbelivers do not cease their ministrations, weeding amoungst the faithful those who doubt the perspacity of the true word. These unbelievers must be rooted out and burnt.

November 26th 2005: As Christmas draws near, once more the Crazy Frog Craze hypes itself up for another campaign of terror. I have news from the front line, from one of our brave compatriots in the fight against the froggy one. She is being forced to gaze upon, and even ... yes, even SELL the frog's heinous visage. She sends me photographic proof, as you can see below. May god have mercy on her soul.

The crazy frog craze taken to extremes-The evil gaze of the evil crazy frog

December 8th 2005: I've been toying with the idea of adding proper forums onto the site in place of the petition for a while now. And I've finally decided to take the plunge. There are now forums with specific sections for each area of the site set up here, although I'm sure you'll be more interested in the CAC specific sections more than anything else ;). Anyway, I hope to hear your vitriolic denouments of the Froggy one's evil soon.

January 5th 2006: Added a nice new image from Sharron. What says 'I detest you, you vile piece of excrement' than flushing the froggy one down the bog? Also, Matt may force me into making CAMP, the Campaign Against Myspace Pricks soon, so look out for that.

January 29th 2006: 'PC Gamer', an internationally acclaimed gaming magazine, has declaimed the froggy one in a review of his latest boil on the fair skin of humanity. The reviewers gave the obnoxious frog's latest cynical cash-in, 'Crazy Frog Racer' a well deserved 5%.

The sad thing is that the 'screeching mess of a game' is bound to be purchased by some unsuspecting parent for their long suffering children.

In other news, the utter gullability of humanity has once again been shown as the Frog's two new videos as expected to sell extremely well. The culpability and stupidity inherent in the human race oft-times makes me wonder ifit is worth carrying on this campaign. But my hatred of for the crazy frog, and the tattered remnants of my intergrity will not let me surrender to him.

So what can you do to counter this menace? Proclaim to everyone you meet the evils of the froggy one. Denounce the teachings of the frog, and wreak vengeance upon his heretical followers. This can be done in one of the three following ways:

Fight the power, Fight the FROG!

Anti-Frog MP3 Ringtone and Videos

Please feel free to download these and set them as you ringtone. They should work on any MP3 capable phone. Having the frog getting shot will definitely get the message across.

Make your Voice Heard

Across the country people are screaming in horror as YET ANOTHER Jamster advert is splayed across the screen like an ugly, overweight prostitute. With an advertising budget of around $7 million a month, it may seem as if there is no way of stopping Jamster. But there might be:

Please, if anyone has any more resources send them in to me. This page is growing in vitriol, and long may it continue!
